Statement of Faith
Potter’s Wheel Assembly Church is a Christian church that upholds Jesus as Lord and Savior of the Word. The following statements describe our position on issues of faith and doctrine:
- God is the creator of the universe. He has revealed himself as Father, son, and the Holy Spirit, in keeping with the historical church doctrine of Trinity of the Godhead.
- Jesus Christ is God incarnate, who was born of a virgin, suffered and died on the cross at Calvary for the salvation of all mankind.
- We believe that Christ is coming back at the end of this age to take his saints to an eternity with him in heaven.
- We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the trinity of the Godhead. He is involved in the church and in the lives of individual believers through all times.
- Every born-again child of God is gifted by the Holy Spirit with spiritual gifts which are free and useful for ministry in the body of Christ, the church.
- All the gifts of the Spirit are valid and useful throughout the life of the church and each has a valid place in the ministry of the church through all times.
- Church membership is constituted of only born-again, bible believing converts who are willing to subject themselves to holy living.
- The Bible is the infallible word of God, which is divinely inspired, and inerrant in matters of doctrine, faith and polity.
- The bible is the final authority on all matters of faith and polity. Scriptural interpretations must align with historical Christianity at all times and circumstances.
- The purpose of the church is to be light to a dark world through a lively ministry of evangelism and missions, accompanied with holy living of her covenanted members in a world infested with sin and depravity.
